Pieces of Fate
Written by Peter J. Gossett
To the tune of Pieces Of Eight, written by Dennis DeYoung

There goes the flock
Live Styx sounds are rare
The warmth of the sounds, chill me from my toes to my hair

Everybody hurries on to the sounds, but me
How beautiful, but never meant for me

I'm just a prisoner not hearing the BNW Reprise
Broken dreams fill me with a sigh

There goes the flock, it's not quitting time, I'll get my way
Out on the streets, I over hear what they had to say
We now have seen Styx, we fill so gay (as in happy)
This causes emptiness and it haunts me anyway
I seek a Styx concert to help me by
I'm alive, but if I don't I will surely die

Pieces of fate
The search to be care free
I want memories to hold
Pieces of fate
A song that I could surely sing
A song where I can sing along

Interpretation

The agony of not seeing Styx in concert. The first leg of the Brave New World tour hit a lot of cities that would normally be missed by a Styx tour, but there were many areas of the country that were not covered, so many desperate Styx fans became increasingly anxious to see a show, especially after hearing so many rave reviews!
